THE DOLOMITES/BALZANO
"Each mountain in the Dolomites is like a piece of art." Reinhold Messner
On to the mountains! Bolzano was the next destination, and we speak of the clean air and calmness of the area to this day. After settling in and sleeping like rocks, we hit the steep roads to the The Alpe di Siusi on a day trip. Much of the area was closed (expected in April), e cosi (that's how it is). We spent our time admiring the Dolomites and enjoying Kastelruth. We explored this picturesque town and their beautiful cemetery and church. It was almost better to visit during off season. There were no crowds, and engaging with the local folk who were relaxed and enjoying spring was a welcomed change for them we think. Our time in Bolzano was bucket list quality. We will return. It was just something about the air, the bikes, and the views.

Cute girl on a balcony!

A cemetary. Each plot was decorated with fresh plantings and pictures. What a beautiful place to be laid to rest.

Happy couple

There is a Paulaner restaurant located in Bolzano. The Tirolean dinner was eccellente. The birra was outstanding. And the company fantastico!

Bolzano town Square. The carousel, the kids, the music, the views, the peace. Magical.
